Busy December

The Stockings are Hung by the Chimney with Care!
Thank you, Cindy, for the great pattern! They were a lot of fun to make.

Christmas at the Court made it's first annual celebration. We had many church people over for a great time of singing and fellowship. And of course we had the eggnog and Christmas cookies.
Lovely flowers sent from Ostercamp Parents. Thank you! They made the home feel more Christmassy!

The tree is ready courtesy of Dave chopping it down from the back yard. First and last time for that. :)

Many of the cookies were provided by our friend, Bev, from church! I also have to give my mom, mother-in-law, and myself credit. Group effort!

Happy Birthday Luke! 9 years old!
Luke with his buddies from school. We kept the party simple and had 3 friends over for a fun scavenger hunt (sisters against the birthday boys) prepared by his dad.

The inspiration for the cake was the hunt that they would be taking, thus the treasure chest with question marks cake was what Luke requested.

Christmas Countdown 2011

We are back on the Blog! I would like to give a shout out to Greta! Thank you for your patience. :) We have had months of change so the Blog has suffered! But, now it is Christmas time and posting on the Blog is a good idea. Here we have our Countdown to Christmas chart all ready to go for another year. Emily was hesitant about being in the picture so her dad had to administer some persuasion. The kids and I finished the work on the chart and then their dad quickly wrote the surprise under day one while they hid in the basement. Alise was the lucky on to pull of day one. Lucky for them it was their dad that wrote the surprise for today because I would have written "Each kid gets 5 m&ms" and that would have been fine. But, instead they got to go to Dairy Queen with dad.

Coming up we have quite a large weekend. Luke turns 9 years old on Sunday. We are having a few of his friends over on Saturday after Christmas program practice of which I am helping to direct. Then on Sunday is our Church Christmas open house at our home. I love this time of year!
